InterMoor US obtains ISO 37001 anti-bribery certification

InterMoor Inc., a brand in Acteon’s Engineering, Mooring and Foundations Division, has achieved the ISO 37001 anti-bribery certification. As per the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO), ISO 37001 is “the international standard that allows organizations of all types to prevent, detect and address bribery by adopting an anti-bribery policy, appointing a person to oversee anti-bribery compliance, training, risk assessments and due diligence on projects and business associates, implementing financial and commercial controls, and instituting reporting and investigation procedures.”

It provides assurance to internal and external stakeholders alike that our organisation is taking the necessary steps to prevent bribery. InterMoor Inc. has two facilities in Louisiana and one office in Houston, Texas. The certification process steps included: 

• Developing a risk assessment that identified bribery risks that InterMoor might reasonably anticipate for all departments and levels of the company 
• Developing a system to ensure that suppliers doing business on behalf of InterMoor comply with our anti-bribery requirements, and that is focused on the bribery investigations including reporting requirements, decision points, and consequences if bribery is identified 
• Providing training to all employees and contractors on InterMoor anti-bribery management system requirements, including the consequences of bribery to InterMoor, the countries where they do business, and the employee. 
• Obtaining commitments from key personnel that they will adhere to the anti-bribery management system  
• Passing an audit from the registrar 
• Developing a system to continuously improve our anti-bribery management system 
• Performing an internal audit of the entire anti-bribery management system 
• Holding a management review that was focused on the performance of the anti-bribery management system and determining if it met its planned outcomes
