FROM OUR FORWARD-THINKING BEGINNINGS TO THE SECTOR-DEFINING SUCCESS OF TODAY

Through organic growth, targeted acquisitions and a unique business model, Acteon has brought together a comprehensive suite of branded marine energy and infrastructure services that use leading complementary technologies and capabilities from across a range of interconnected disciplines.

This unique approach enables Acteon, our strategic service divisions, branded services, product lines and expertise to focus closely on project-enhancing solutions to operating challenges while delivering safe, sustainable and successful projects.

Historical Growth

Established in 1989 with a focus on engineered solutions between the interfaces of well conductors and production facilities, the business developed organically through the 1990s. Expansion of services and equipment became a key focus and drove the well-recognised acquisition strategy for which Acteon is now renowned.

As the focus became more subsea oriented, the Acteon brand replaced that of UWG Group in 2004. Over the last decade, the Acteon group has grown nearly tenfold into the global marine energy and infrastructure services company it is today: organic growth still being the dominant area while acquisitions are still strategically targeted.

The group also has an impressive track record of commercialising new technologies and establishing and successfully growing new start-up businesses such as Large Diameter Drilling (LDD) and Pulse Structural Monitoring (Pulse).

Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) Policy

Acteon are committed to establishing a sustainable ESG strategy, which positively impacts the environment, our employees, and wider society, and we are adapting our business to be fully aligned with this.

Guiding our ESG strategy are five principles:

  • Understanding and minimising our impact on the environment.
  • Making a positive contribution to the communities within which we operate.
  • Ensuring Zero Harm to the people who work for or with us and giving them the opportunity to perform to the best of their ability.
  • Operating within a business framework that ensures all decisions are made with integrity and ethically.
  • Reporting and communicating with our key stakeholders transparently and honestly.

Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) – Sustainable safety management

Our safety culture focus is that no member of staff should suffer injury or cause harm to anyone else in any way.

Acteon’s vision is to achieve zero harm through the effective management of safety in all aspects of its operations. In simple terms, it is unacceptable for people to be injured while working for us and all employees should return home fit and well at the end of each shift.

Acteon believes that its operations should have fundamentally safe, well-designed plant, equipment, and infrastructure with robust, risk-based safety management systems driving the desired outcomes, behaviours and culture.

Corporate and Social Responsibility

Acteon encourages each of the branded service companies to do what is appropriate for their business. This could link to their locality, the environments in which they operate or the communities that surround them.

We are committed to the countries in which we operate, and we always recognise our wider responsibilities to the environments in which we live and work. We work with local supply chains wherever possible and employ local people at every opportunity. Our companies identify areas of community involvement where our voluntary efforts can make a difference.

Looking across the business you will find sponsorship, charity and volunteering projects with staff at all levels involved in making a difference and gaining additional skills to take into the workplace.
