USV and AUV

Smarter, safer and faster offshore surveys

Acteon deploys Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) to transform how offshore survey and inspection is delivered. We minimise offshore exposure, reduce costs and accelerate project timelines while enhancing data quality.

Integrated with iSite, our cloud-based platform, they enable smarter decisions through fast, secure and interactive access to survey data.

How it works

AUVs and USVs perform offshore surveys autonomously, reducing the need for large vessels and crews. AUVs collect high-resolution seabed and asset data using advanced sonar and imaging systems, while USVs operate on the surface to support data relay and remote control. Together, they deliver faster, safer, and more efficient offshore operations with minimal human intervention.

AUVs and USVs could be deployed together on the same project for maximum efficiency. AUV collects seabed and/or asset data at between five to six times the speed of conventional ROV surveys and can inform the requirements for more detailed ROV inspections faster, which leads to significant cost savings.

Applications:

  • Pipeline and cable inspection
  • Seabed mapping and debris clearance
  • Unexploded Ordnance Surveys (UXO)
  • Environmental and habitat assessments
  • Decommissioning and site clearance
  • Defense and scientific research

Act on offshore risk and operational efficiency

AUVs and USVs deliver high-resolution data and safe access to hard-to-reach or hazardous marine areas - ideal for detailed or large-scale seafloor mapping.
