Suction pile design, fabrication & installation
InterMoor’s structural and foundations engineers focus on the design, analysis, specification, fabrication, testing and installation of a variety of subsea foundations and unique installation aids.
Suction piles (also called suction caissons or suction anchors) are a long steel cylinder topped with a pile top or cap. The cap comprises valves to assist with embedment as well as connections that differ depending on the use of the pile.
InterMoor’s engineering capabilities include:
- Sizing of piles and mud mats (geotechnical)
- Structural frame analysis
- Finite element analysis
- Fatigue analysis
- Mechanical design
- Lift and rigging design
- Load testing.
