The majority of offshore structures, whether oil and gas or renewable energy assets, have piled and grouted foundations. Piles may be pre-installed or driven through tubular legs or skirt sleeves, forming an annular void between the pile and the leg or sleeve. The annular void is filled with a cement-based grout; the grout is delivered to the bottom of the structure, displacing the water as the column of grout rises in the annulus. The purpose of the grout is to provide a connection between the driven pile and the structure, enabling the transfer of loads from the structure to the supporting piles.
We have experience in various types of offshore foundation grouting, including leg piles, skirt piles, pre-installed pin piles and drilled pile sockets. Our engineers can design and specify grouts ranging from ultra-low to ultra-high strength, which we install with our bespoke processing and installation equipment.
