Intermoor, Acteon’s Moorings and Anchor’s business line, has secured a contract from Petrofac Facilities Management Limited. The scope covers engineering, mooring equipment, marine spread, installation, and removal of a temporary mooring system for the FPSO Northern Endeavour, which will be positioned offshore Singapore during its decommissioning phase.

The Northern Endeavour is a decommissioned Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel that previously operated in the Timor Sea between the Laminaria and Corallina oilfields, approximately 550 km northwest of Darwin, Australia. The FPSO was permanently shut down in 2019 following safety concerns and later taken over by the Australian Government after the former operator’s liquidation. A comprehensive decommissioning programme was launched, covering well abandonment, subsea infrastructure removal, and dismantling of the FPSO.

Petrofac is managing the disconnection and decommissioning of the vessel. Under this contract, Acteon is responsible for the project management and engineering (PME), design, provision, installation, and recovery of the temporary mooring system, including full mobilisation and demobilisation.

Chee-Hoe Tay, General Manager at Intermoor APAC, highlighted the strategic importance of the project and expressed gratitude to Petrofac for entrusting Acteon with this critical scope. He commented:

“We’re proud to leverage our global expertise to support Petrofac on this high-profile decommissioning campaign involving the Australian Government. Our team is fully committed to delivering a safe, seamless execution, and to exceeding expectations through close collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.”

As a global leader in temporary and permanent mooring and offshore installation technology, Acteon brings deep domain expertise in mooring design and analysis, equipment supply, rig moves, transportation and installation (T&I), hook-up, inspection, repair and maintenance operations (IRM) and decommissioning.
