Solution

Monopile collar grouting services

The Kaskasi offshore wind project in the German North Sea involved the installation of an innovative monopile collar stabilisation technology on three of the 38 foundations. Each connection required highly precise grouting to ensure structural stability.

Pushing boundaries

This was an industry first and installing the demonstration collars required precision grouting to ensure structural integrity and long-term performance. The customer needed confidence that grouting would ensure performance without introducing delays to the installation programme.

Optimising grouting efficiency with tailored technology

Menck, Acteon’s Marine Foundations business line utilised its decades of experience in installation and deployed our SikaGrout®-9500  solution to grout the annulus between each monopile and collar. A pan mixing and pumping system was mobilised alongside material storage containers, an offshore laboratory, and a mobile workshop.

Equipment strategically located across our global hubs was rapidly mobilised to meet project timelines, to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime, with logistics and crewing teams coordinating at short notice. By leveraging our strong supplier relationships, we achieved a rapid understanding of technical requirements, ensuring installation activities remained aligned with project specifications and schedules.

The result

We successfully supported the installation of three monopile stabilisation collars in an industry-first trial. The project showcased the value of responsive, integrated services in enabling offshore wind innovation against demanding timelines. The trial demonstrated effective collaboration across the supply chain and timely offshore execution under tight mobilisation conditions. Each collar passed the inspection, validating the process and supporting future adoption of the stabilisation method.
