Solution

Fully integrated jacket installation solution

Menck, Acteon’s Marine Foundations business line, delivered a fully integrated jacket installation solution for the Congo LNG project in 27 m water depth.

Precision under pressure

The project required precise execution in a challenging marine environment. Tight tolerances, complex logistics, and remote coordination added pressure to deliver a safe, first-time-right installation.

Our solution

01Integrated foundation delivery

Integrated foundation delivery

The complete jacket scope under a single contract was delivered, streamlining execution for Hilong Marine Engineering. Services included pile handling, jacket levelling, grouting, pile driving and reverse-circulation drilling in 27 m water depth.

We deployed internal lifting tools for both primary and insert piles, 600Te jacket levelling tools, Claxton’s S90 hammer for pile driving, and the MDR008 reverse-circulation drill with a pneumatic gripper can. Our custom offshore grouting spread, including rotary jet mixer, silos, and lab, ensured consistent material control.

Equipment was mobilised from Acteon hubs in the UK, Ireland and Singapore. Close coordination between logistics, engineering and offshore crews, combined with pre-packaged spare parts and remote support, ensured the equipment arrived on time and reduced offshore complexity.

02Innovations in action

Innovations in action

  • MDR008 reverse-circulation drill – enabled efficient drilling in complex seabed conditions.
  • 600Te jacket levelling tools (JLTs) – delivered accurate positioning and alignment of the jacket structure.
  • Size-adapted internal lifting tools (ILTs) – ensured safe handling of primary and insert piles.
  • Custom offshore grouting system – included a rotary jet mixer, cement silos and mobile lab for material control.
  • Mobile workshop and offshore lab – supported responsive execution and quality assurance.
  • Claxton S90 Hammer – provided reliable pile driving with hose reel powerpack and spare units
  • Integrated service package – reduced interface risk and helped optimise vessel time and emissions.

The result

We completed the installation of the jacket, enabling Hilong Marine Engineering to meet offshore deadlines on a strategically important project. The integrated solution reduced vessel time, minimised risk, and avoided delays, supporting cost control and environmental goals. This project demonstrated our ability to deliver creative, fit-for-purpose solutions through coordinated offshore execution and strong global logistics.
