The J2 Subsea Tooling Manifold is an integrated control manifold providing rotation control clockwise / counter clockwise, flow control and 3 x selectable pressure settings.
Using this manifold allows a single tool to be set up for 3 different pressures.
The manifold is controlled by only 2 bi-directional valves from the ROV. Standard DCV spool configuration in the neutral position is P blocked with A and B to tank, other spool options available on request.
JIC connections are supplied as standard with all pilot connections piped to a bulkhead plate. Standard instrumentation fittings: Hylok and others available upon request. Hoses for connection to the ROV and tool can also be supplied upon request.
The API 17D surface analyser is designed to allow the operator to check torque tool output torque prior to subsea deployment.
Supplied with quick change adaptor shafts which allows the unit to be used with the 17D class 1-4 torque tool. Torque is displayed on a handheld read out meter selectable from NM – FT/lbs.
Supplied with the unit is an adaptor cable to allow calibration with the Zetechtics Jupiter TTCS.
The manipulator clutch tool is designed to allow the operator to function low torque valves without the need for a hydraulic driven torque tool.
Supplied with 40-100NM and 80-200NM s/s clutches allows the operator to quickly and easily set the tool to the required max torque prior to deployment.
The FLOT is designed to lift and install flying leads into the necessary connections subsea.
- Pitch angle 90 deg down and 45 degree up from horizontal
- Roll angle 64 degree
- 270kg hand off weight
- Complies with industry standard FLOT requirements
- Rugged and robust design for HD applications

The Flying Lead Orientation Tool (FLOT), provides a means of mounting the class 1 to 4 torque tool to the ROV in such a way that the orientation of the component being installed can be adjusted as the ROV approaches the subsea structure.
It consists of an aluminium/stainless steel framework which is fastened to the front of the ROV.
At the front of this framework is a rotary actuator, onto which is mounted a second aluminium/stainless steel structure which mounts the torque tool.
The rotary actuator provides a +/- 90° pitch movement providing +/-15° roll movement, actuated by hydraulic cylinders.
The HD FLOT is better able to facilitate the installation of Steel Tube Flying Leads than conventional FLOT’s providing as it does a 60% higher load capacity.
The TTCS is a long established field proven intelligent valve pack based on industry standard wandfluh valves.
The system can be interfaced with all standard API17D and Petrobras torque tools.
The fully integrated subsea unit is supplied with a dedicated PC operating Windows® based control software. It can be operated in 4 different modes:
Open loop pressure
Pressure and tool speed is manually controlled by the operator.
Closed loop pressure
This maintains a set pressure regardless of tool speed.
Smart pressure
This tracks speed and maintains the lowest pressure that keeps the tool turning at a constant speed.
Smart torque
This mode gives closed loop control of torque.
The TORNADO TRO subsea torque tool is specifically designed for operation with an ROV or a diver, and features torque and turns count sensors to allow readout of torque and turns.
When matched with a “smart” torque tool control manifold, full torque turns feedback and control can be achieved.

The Zetechtics range of Jupiter Subsea Control Systems have lead to the development of a range of stand-alone battery powered subsea display systems.
The Sensor Light System is designed to monitor the state or position of actuators on subsea tooling modules and installations without the need for a complex control system or datalink. This allows an awkwardly placed actuator to be monitored by an ROV or rig camera as a hot-stab or remote function is operated.
The system can be configured to illuminate when the contact is closed and/or open. The inbuilt light sensor accuates the system only when illuminated by the ROV’s lights, allowing it to remain dormant for prolonged periods.
Advantages
- 3,000msw rated rugged design (currently being tested for 4000msw – please contact us for more information)
- Stand-alone operation with long battery life
- Ultra low power with selectable dormant state
- Illuminates to show simple contact state
- Can be used in conjunction with a control system to provide dual redundancy
Jupiter Type 1 changed the industry by offering a fresh approach to subsea control. As subsea automation increased, so did the requirements of the control system.
Previously the approach had remained the same, using an expensive and cumbersome pressure vessel to house the electronics, which controlled a seperate hydraulic valve pack.
Zetechtics lead the market by developing the Jupiter system, which combines the functions of valve pack and pressure vessel into a single oil compensated enclosure, thus reducing weight, size, interconnections and cost whilst allowing increased flexibility and functionality in a compact user friendly package.
