The HLK-33600 4” Cutter is a self-contained grab, feed and cut unit, which for a weight of only 12Kg can cut pipe, cable or grout hose. This is a significant weight reduction on standard anvil cutters.
It can be controlled using standard Hydro-Lek systems or directly from a work class ROV. Constructed principally from 316 stainless steel, the grab grips around the item to be cut, then with the cutter disc rotating, it feeds on to the work piece at a controlled rate to make the cut.
The HLK-33625 6” Cutter is a self-contained grab, feed and cut unit, which for a weight of only 13Kg can cut pipe, cable or grout hose.
The HLK-33900 Cutter is a compact hydraulic cutter constructed from 316 & 17-4PH stainless steel and is capable of cutting 38mm diameter stainless steel wire rope.
It can be mounted in a frame that can be bolted to the HD & RHD series Hydro-Lek Manipulator Arm Slew Mount. Alternatively, it can be mounted into a “T Handle” frame so that it can be held in a standard manipulator jaw.
The super grinder is designed for the quick / effective cutting of a large variety of materials. The unit utilises an industry-standard hydraulic motor and bearing housing as the base of its construction.
The system is supplied with a tooling control block offering, pressure/flow control, pilot on/off control and run down check valve assy.
This subsea cutter is based around a lightweight aluminum hydraulic high speed, high torque motor.
Supplied for rental as a kit, with a range of different blade types, this is the ideal subsea cutting solution. The ROV cutting tool can be supplied with fish tail handle or D multi handle. In addition, the bearing housing is a custom in-house design, specifically made to handle the large amounts of axial loading caused by rotating large disks and cutting actions causing “chatter” at the shaft, thus providing long life during cutting operations.
Subsea cutting solutions
Custom blades are available for many applications, but the 1″ Arbor suits many standard supply cutting blades, which makes for an ideal underwater cutting solution. The standard, hydraulic operated, super grinder gate allows for our standard range of up to 16″ blades. The gate only opens as far as the amount that blade can handle to cut in one go. Of course, if you do have a special requirement, contact us and we can supply the boss kit needed.
The GR29 is a rotary Grinder/Cutter/Buffer capable of using discs up to 9” in Diameter.
The system is supplied with a tooling control block and hoses for connection to the ROV. The unit is also supplied with an adaptor plate that will allow the fitting of 6”, 8” & 12” hard nylon brushes for hub cleaning and marine growth removal.
J2 Subsea can supply a full range of consumables to suit the GR29 to cover cutting/grinding and cleaning tasks.
Options available include abrasive cutting / grinding discs, diamond cutting discs, and nylon/wire brushes which are available in different sizes to suit a variety of tasks.
The HCV100 is a lightweight double-acting cutting tool primarily intended for use on umbilical cable and hose and will cut up to 100mm in diameter.
It may be used on alternative materials, such as electrical power or communication cables, again up to a maximum of 100mm diameter. It may be mounted on an ROV or manipulator arm. Where small diameters are to be cut, every effort should be made to place the material centrally along the anvil to minimise offset loading.
The cutter is intended for use on Coflexip type riser and will cut hose up to 270mm diameter. It may be used on alternative materials, such as electrical power or communication cables, up to a maximum of 200mm in diameter.
Where small diameters are to be cut, effort should be made to place the material centrally along the anvil to minimise any offset loading. The cutter is not designed to cut large-diameter wire rope.
The RCO40LP is a double-acting tool primarily intended for use on steel wire rope, having a maximum tensile strength of 1960N/mm and will cut ropes up to 38mm in diameter.
The cutting range begins at 25mm diameter wire rope with a maximum tensile strength of 2160N/mm up to 38mm diameter with maximum tensile strength of 1960N/mm.
IMPORTANT: Please note this tool is capable of cutting wire rope with a minimum strand diameter of 1.5mm. For wire rope with smaller strands please consider the cutters vs grade table below. We also recommend that cutting is performed at a distance no less than 10X rope diameter from the end, otherwise premature blade failure may occur.
The RCO54 is a double-acting tool primarily intended for use on steel wire rope, having a maximum tensile strength of 1960N/mm, up to 54mm in diameter.
It may be used on alternative materials, such as electrical power or communication cables, again up to a maximum of 54mm in diameter.
The RCV115 is primarily intended for use on steel wire rope, having a maximum tensile strength of 1880N/mm and will cut ropes up to 115mm in diameter.
It may be used on alternative materials, such as electrical power or communication cables, again up to a maximum of 115mm in diameter. Where smaller diameters are to be cut, effort should be made to place the material centrally along the anvil to minimise any offset loading.
The RCV135 is intended for use on steel wire rope having a maximum tensile strength of 1770N/mm and will cut ropes up to 135mm in diameter.
It may be used on alternative materials, such as electrical power or communication cables, again up to a maximum of 135mm in diameter. Where smaller diameters are to be cut, every effort should be made to place the material centrally along the anvil to minimise any offset loading.
The RCV155 is primarily intended for use on steel wire rope, having a maximum tensile strength of 1880N/mm and will cut ropes up to 155mm in diameter.

The RCV75HD is a heavy-duty wire rope cutter designed for subsea deployment in severe working conditions.
Lightweight aluminum and stainless steel construction. Hydraulically operated anvil makes the tool easy to operate. Integrated interlock – The blade cannot activate until the anvil is fully closed, preventing accidental operation in low visibility environments. Integrated mini booster intensifier – The RCV75HD requires a low-pressure hydraulic supply to operate. The integrated relief valve improves reliability and prevents accidental over-pressurisation of the cylinder.
