INSTALLING THE FUTURE: MEET THE MHU HYDRAULIC HAMMER FAMILY

100 kj

The baby of the family, originally built for offshore conductor installation with its light weight and versatility, the MHU 100C is ideal for smaller subsea pile installation and onshore construction. The MHU100C is built to withstand harsh offshore conditions and delivers reliable and consistent performance.

150 – 300 kj

For 150 – 300 kj requirements, the MHU150S subsea hammer is ideal for above and shallow water, and the MHU270T can be used in deep water. The MHU 150S and MHU 300S hammers are both directly adaptable to pile sizes ranging from 0.5m OD (24-in.) to 2.2m OD (84-in.). In line with its integral design considerations, these hammers can be utilised for above-water and shallow subsea operations in up to 300 m water depth. Once paired with MENCK’s deepwater girdle-type powerpack, these hammers can support installation efforts in water depths down to 3,000 m (10,000 ft) effectively and efficiently.

400 – 550 kj

Subsea hammers for above, shallow, and deep water are available in a range of 400 – 550 kJ of power. This series of hydraulic underwater hammers are easy to operate and maintain, with enhanced safety features, and are designed to maximise energy efficiency.

800 kj

For projects needing 800 kJ of power, the MHU 800S subsea hammer can be used for above and shallow water, and the MHU 750T for deep water requirements. The MHU 800S hammers are directly adaptable to pile sizes ranging from 1.1 m OD (42 in.) to 5.2m OD (205 in.). In line with its integral design considerations, these hammers can be utilised for above-water and shallow subsea operations in up to 300 m water depth. Once paired with our deepwater girdle-type powerpack, these hammers can support installation efforts in water depths down to 3,000 m (10,000 ft) effectively and efficiently.

1200 – 1900 kj

For projects needing 1200 – 1900 kJ of power, we offer the MHU 1200S and MHU 1900S subsea hammers for above and shallow water. Energy levels are seamlessly adjusted from 10% to 100% of design energy through the MHC 21 hydraulic control system with hammer performance monitored in real-time. Free riding and submersible up to 300 meters, these hammers have a higher energy output with a lower total hammer weight with the double-acting hydraulic drive unit which not only pulls the ram weight up but also pushes it back down.

2400 – 4400 kj

For the largest foundations, we provide the biggest hammers delivering 2400 kJ – 4400 kj of energy. The MHU 2400S, 3500S and 4400S subsea hammers are suitable for above and shallow water.

The MHU 4400S ‘gentle giant’ hammer system which can deliver 4400 kJ of impact energy, has successfully been used in the world’s largest one-part driving configuration (8 m diameter) to support the installation of the first foundations on the project. The hammer helps to achieve carbon efficiencies by using quieter technology in comparison to the conventional MHU design. Reduction of the project footprint is supported by the integrated system setup which requires minimal personnel to work on the installation.
